Four to six things to say the next time 'like' comes up. No materials required.

I like that.
Say it about something you actually like, in front of the student, and touch 'like' on their board as you say it. Nothing is asked of them in return. Comment-only modeling is where most of the day's input should live.

You like it!
When a student lights up at something, name what just happened and model the word. You are labeling their experience, not quizzing them on it.

I don't like slop. I like pizza.
Model the refusal right beside the preference, in the same breath. 'Like' is worth far more to a kid who can also say no with it.

Do you like it?
Ask, then model 'like' yourself while you wait. If no answer comes, answer it out loud yourself and carry on. The model is the point, not the response.

I like recess. I like lunch.
Narrate the transition on the way to the door. Two models in a real moment cost nothing and beat a contrived lesson.

I like you.
Say it to the student and touch the word. The most-used social sentence in the room deserves the same modeling as the academic ones.
